Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me, My dog has been licking his boy bits since he came back from his walk this afternoon. The tip is red and is "poking" out a little. He is letting me have a look at it and I cant see anything obvious, I think it may be itchy? Any ideas what it could be or how I can "fix" it form home? Many thanks

When my dog was licking at his feet the vet suggested something from his walk was irritating them. He said to wash his feet after every walk with salt water and then rinse it off with cooled boiled water. Might do the trick for your boy?

@ ChandlerIsTheBestFriend Thank you, I'm a bit reluctant to use salt on that area, I may just use cooled boiled water and see if that helps, Thank you

Yes I would be reluctant to. Try the boiled water and hopefully it will help soothe whatever is itching him.

Could be phimosis. This can be serious in dogs. Put a very cold flannel on it and see if it will shrink back in - of not, call to emergency vet.

Sorry - paraphimosis.

Mild salt water, (half a teaspoon to a pint of water) is less irritating than plain water and won't sting as much,
