Guinea Pig does not seem to be moving about correctly - any ideas?

We have 2 x 10 week old GP's. Mary is the one who usually runs a mile if you go to pick her up, yesterday I thought she was a bit slower in her movments. I noticed today she seems to be moving both back legs at the same time and sort of doing bunny hops. Not scurrying as she usually does. I have picked her up and checked her over - can't see any damage to feet, can't feel any lumps or bumps on legs or thighs, can't see any damage fur or skin. I have only fed them gerty GP food - nothing else yet so I don't understand what can be wrong?

Anyone any ideas please?

going to Bath DD - but will be back soon to see if anyone has any suggestions.

TIA

just checked on Google - and these are the first symptoms of Vit C deficiency
"What are the signs of a deficiency?
Lethargy, weakness, unwillingness to move
Hopping instead of walking, enlarged or stiff limb joints"

So I think you may be right. Will go to pet shop tomorrow and get Vit C.

Thanks very much, website said it should clear up after a week.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks again - feel a bit happier now!

Please take her to the vet. There is no obvious reason from what you have said as to why she is like this.

OOhh - am worried again now - will phone vet in the morning.

Well speaking from my extensive experience of guinea pig ownership (4 weeks now) she's probably pregnant. Ours was.

and now we have 3 guinea pigs...

The little ones are very cute. Though we did already have enough pets....

I would take her to the vet as if it is vit c deficiency I think they can give an injection there and then.

If its babies then congratulations!!!!

I heart guinea pigs, they are beyond sweet!

I have just got 2 today, they are so cute. I am worried about them already though as they are very still and quite. tbh, I thought they were dead earlier
