My dog is attention seeking

I recently found out I'm pregnant, and my dog has been sniffing around me and sitting on my lap, she's been lying over my stomach and pawing at me for attention. I know dogs act strangely around pregnant women, so is this normal? Has anyone else had dogs displaying weird behaviours?

Yes, quite normal. Dogs do seem to know when their owners are pregnant and often become quite possessive or stressed about it. The good news is that their behaviour returns to normal after the birth. I swear my horse knew I was pregnant. He kept nuzzling my tummy and my DCs are the only children he has ever liked.
