Asda Bargain for rodent owners!

I got a papershredder for £7.97 in Asda today! All the bedding my guinea pigs can eat/wee on.

we used to do this until someone told us that it wasnt good for them to eat shredded newspaper so we stopped. Have we been given incorrect information - do you know if it does them any harm to eat it?

Depends if they actually eat it or not I guess. If they see it as a kind of straw my pigs will just trample it. Will try it and see.

shouldn't harm them as newspaper ink is made from vegetable dyes

The only problem is pale rodents may be discoloured from the ink running - it is commonly used amongst friends of mine if we are low on bedding or cash!! (loo roll is also a good on for the bedroom - asda smart price... stick the roll in and let them chew / build away!)
