Why is my new kitten miaowing constantly :(?!?!

We got him yesterday, he is 14 weeks, he miaowed in the car on the way home and quite literally hasn't stopped, is this normal?????

Our cat did this for about 3 days when we got her! She cried if you were in the room with her, and cried even louder if she was on her own. She stopped after about 3 days If I remember correctly!
