Guinea pigs and pregnant?

DH and I are thinking of getting a pair of rescue guinea pigs.

But I’ve read that pregnant women shouldn’t handle rodents? We are planning on having a baby.

Its parasites in their poop, similar to cats.

I have a rabbit and when I was pregnant I'd of course stroke him and cuddle, feed etc. Always wash hands. Husband did all the cage cleaning.

I felt that was sufficient and I can be a bit if a worrier
