Anyone have a Jack Tzu?

Hello, does anyone own a Jack Tzu?
I've got a beautiful female, 7 months. Currently in season. Sweetest natured little thing. Just wondering if there are other Jack Tzu owners out there?

I didn't realise that by starting a friendly thread people would get so presumptuous and uptight.
I didn't come on here asking for a stud, I didn't come on here for ridicule, I didn't come on here to be told my dog is a mongrel (I already know this!).
Simply put, I came on here to ask if anyone else had this type of dog for advice. As my dog is still a pup I would have liked to learn a bit more.
Seems I posted inappropriately to provoke some rude responses.

We've sort of gone one. He's a heinz 57. We had a DNA test done and turns out his predominant breed is Shih Tzu and terrier and beagle and some other stuff. He looks like a Jack Russell though. He's very clever and friendly and sociable. Everyone loves him and we're a bit sad we can never have another.

Pinkcloud88 · 02/01/2020 15:23

@SlightlyStaleCocoPops no, not angling as you put it. Never in this thread did I state I wanted to breed with my dog.
That's never been my intention.
Can a person not simply ask a question on here without people twisting things and being nasty?

My comment really was said with kindness....as a joke. I'm am a member of a special dog Facebook page, no doubt there will be one for your breed.
They are as much a type of dog as a pedigree, in that their 'breeding' is known and specific, so knowing other owners is always useful.

Pinkcloud88 · 02/01/2020 15:28

@Okki he sounds lovely.
My dog is lovely natured but quite stubborn! Very good with cats, other dogs and children. Lively little thing. We are planning on getting her spayed (sp?) in 3 months time as this is what the vet advised. She's already 5 kilo and not quite fully grown.

What advice do you want OP? Is your dog more like a Jack Russel? A Shih Tzu? No one can give you any real "advice" about it because it's not an actual standardized breed; there is no frame of reference. Saying that is not being nasty.

Pinkcloud88 · 02/01/2020 15:29

@BoswellSolver I know you meant well with your comment, it's OK. ☺
So many names for mixed breeds!
Jack Shit is a common one!

Hi @SlightlyStaleCocoPops I was just asking if anyone else had experience of this type on mixed breed. Thats all.
I am not looking for a male to impregnate her as don't want puppies.
Simply a friendly chat about a dog?!

@pinkcloud88 Okkidog is about 7.5kg. He's 18 months approx. He's a rescue and he's been with us for 7 months. I've been amazed at how gentle he is with treats and how quickly he learns stuff. He's a real character.

MotherOfSoupDragons · 02/01/2020 15:46

Oh dear OP. Owners of crossbreed dogs get a very hard time on MN. I'd hide the thread if I were you.

Pinkcloud88 · 02/01/2020 15:58

@Motherofsoupdragons
Good advice, thanks. I'm starting to realise I've entered into a minefield! Some kind responses on here which I'm grateful for. @Okki your boy sounds lovely.

Are we only supposed to have pedigrees then? We had our dog as a rescue at 3 months, we love her to bits regardless of being a mongrel.
I was even accused on here of 'angling' for a stud when I'd mentioned nothing of the sort.
Seems such an odd and unpleasant attitude. I never imagined the thread would turn out like this.
Thanks to all who posted politely. I'll leave

@Pinkcloud88 if you'd mentioned she was a rescue in your OP you'd have had a different response tbh. Rescues are the best kind of breed on here 😁. Where did you get her?

Okki · 02/01/2020 16:53

And thank you for saying my dog sounds lovely. I would've agreed with you up until about ten mins ago when he got up on the kitchen table and tried to scoff a box of mince pies Grin

if you'd mentioned she was a rescue in your OP you'd have had a different response tbh.

This x 100 Grin

I have a dog which is 3/4 poodle and 1/4 cocker spaniel? Does this mean I have a PooCock?

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 02/01/2020 17:22

I have no issue with the "designer crossbreed" names. They are a quick and easy way of stating which two breeds the dog is a mix of.

I have one that is part cocker spaniel part annoying bastard. I call him a total cock.

(He's not, he's pure cocker.)

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 02/01/2020 17:24

I was even accused on here of 'angling' for a stud when I'd mentioned nothing of the sort.

To be fair though, it's the most obvious reason for mentioning she's in season.

Caaarrrl · 02/01/2020 18:47

I have a jack shit. DH calls him a jack tsu. You're right about them being stubborn though. He is very gorgeous and wet love him to bits. He's nearly 4 now.

TheSunshines · 12/03/2021 00:39

Hello OP I know I'm a little late to the thread but hope you've been back. I'm getting a Shih tzu x Jack tomorrow hopefully. Looking forward to her arrival. How are you getting on?
