My daughter was recently discharged from the USMC and moved home bringing a pit bull/lab puppy home with her , I had originally told her that he probably wouldn’t work in our home but we would give him a try. She brought him home from NC and he was emaciated and wouldn’t eat and had bloody stool . We took him to the vet and paid $300 to have him diagnosed with hook worms , vet gave him meds and special food . This all happened after she finally allowed us to take him to the vet ( she argued that he wasn’t sick ..). About 2 days later she decides to drop him off at a friends house whose home is exactly like the show hoarders .. and then she took off to another state ( she is currently there , 7 hours away , and has been there for almost 4 weeks now , barely communicating with us. My husband and I didn’t know what to do so he went to the house to get the dog so that he could finish his medicine. Sorry this story is so long .. side note , we have a 6 lb chihuahua , a 3 yr old and an infant in our home. It has been extremely difficult as I take care of the kids and dogs. My dilemma is this .. I told her we would like to rehome him and she has told me that if I do that she will press charges . I don’t even know if she can do that .. she never took him to the vet for vaccinations and has no license for him.
Please so rude comments , I understand I have given a lot of grace , but I need support on my decision or any legal advice .. anyone know if she could legally press charges for taking him to humane society or another home ??
