rescues come with "no service history" so to speak

A dog can be a very good family pet - ONLY WHEN given the CORRECT training and care - without either of these, the dog has issues (that may be able to be sorted with the right behaviourist training) however taking on a rescue with a small family is, I personally think, not a good idea

My mum is a dog trainer and she would say that any dog - whether it be rottie, labrador or west highland terrier is capable of killing a child / person / animal (recently a westie took hold of her boss's german shepherd and nearlly killed it)

Any dog is 89% wolf - ie, wild... be very careful with dogs as pets ... I'd never knowingly let an untrained dog around my family

can i just say that not all rescue dogs are mad ,bad or aggressive and to say they are is ridiculous . Also not all rescue dogs come with no service history, alot are up for rehoming because of relationship break ups and other reasons that have nothing at all to do with the dogs behaviour . I totally agree with everyone else on this thread re the puppy , a definate no for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned . If you like a particular breed ,why not conatct the breed rescue , you might have to wait a while but they would fix you up with the right dog for your circumstances .
