Help. Stuck under sleeping kitten on the sofa and I want to go bed :(

Bought baby Demelza home today. She seems happy! She’s been purring and kneading at me as soon as the kids went to bed and it was quiet. I tried putting her to bed in the kitchen with the door shut with her bed, a blanket, water & litter. But she was crying and it hurt my heart!

I came downstairs and opened the door and she was actually in her bed.

But I felt guilty and she was sat At her bowl so I fed her abit (she’s mega greedy! And was actually climbing up the back of my legs for food..?)

And now she’s passed out on me on the sofa!

What do I do? Wake her and put her in the kitchen? Try and sleep on said sofa? 😩

Take her up to bed with you I think. Just don't squash her

You cannot ask advice without a photo. Sorry.

Put her where you want her to sleep. They learn really fast. Well it works for dogs at least. Mine loves his bed

Majorcollywobble · 22/10/2019 23:08

Put her in her bed . If you start her sleeping with you be prepared to do it every night . When she weighs about a stone having her on your chest won’t t be so sweet Grin

Agreed that we need photos of baby Demelza in order to advise correctly.

Go back and get another kitten

We just got two and they cuddle up together at night. Just leave them downstairs though (although not in kitchen because dogs there and they intimidate him)

I always leave them food for overnight though tbh

Did you wrap up a hot water bottle and put it in the bed? She’s probably missing the warm body of her mummy and siblings.

Photo please.

Go back and get another kitten

Completely agree with this. They do much better with company and two us no harder than one.

Notnownotneverever · 22/10/2019 23:16

Ours did this. We just made a mini bed at the end of our bed in a box full of blankets for the first couple of nights. She climbs up and got in the middle of our bed but when we woke in night she was back in the makeshift bed. Only slept in it for a couple of nights then she found her own places around the house. She settled very quickly in our home. Just needed to be near someone for the first couple of nights I think.

Don't wake her she's just a baby and everything's changed and she's trusting you! I'm a soft touch..

Where did you get her collar ? All the ones I've tried aren't small enough.

Darksideofthemoon19 · 22/10/2019 23:18

I don’t really want her sleeping in our bed yet. Husband has to be up at 4 for work so don’t really want her zooming around 😂

Oh she’s adorable. Do you want to swap her for a one eyed dog that has been looked after by eldest for a week. The little shit is on night duty mode and now wide awake. I’m so tired and in pain from an injury. Go to fucking sleep dog!

Notnownotneverever · 22/10/2019 23:18

She's adorable. Enough the new kitty cuddles - they grow up quickly just like children do!

MairzyDoats · 22/10/2019 23:21

Take her to bed and accept your fate. Sorry. You can't leave her on her own in a cold dark kitchen, she's only a baby!
