Flea infestation- Help!

So I went on holiday and left my cat with a lovely 20 year old ( who got to stay in my house as a reward).
She finds fleas on cat nose and takes cat to the vet - vet prescribes Advocate once a month plus cleaning everything really well, washing everything at 60 degrees.
She gives the treatment, washes everything and gets out of my house ( going back to feeding the cat every day). That happened in the 13th.
I got back yesterday (17th), cleaned everything again and sprayed everywhere with Staykill (given by the vet).
Cat has fleas this morning, I cought two on her face!!!!
She had been all night in the patio not possible to have caught them at home.
Possibly the girl did not give the Advocate correctly? In my experience it works immediately!
What shall I do???Confused

I would continue with the cleaning and plenty of vacuuming everywhere! Personally I would use indorex spray for the house and have found the best flea treatment to be stronghold. In the mean time go over with a flea comb as often as possible to remove any live fleas.
Good luck!

But the vet told.me that with Advantage fleas bite the cat and die...the cat becomes a sort of flea trap....
I have used a spray the vet gave me but it does not seem to do much.
Bought Indorex via Amazon - but how.many times do you have to give it?

Might be worth speaking to your vet and seeing when you can give your cat another treatment. It should keep killing fleas and mites for around 2 months and prevent for a yesar so all being well a single application should do it.
How is she getting on?

Lots of bowls of hot Fairy water! Fleas love a good soak! Lots of hoovering. Wash soft furnishings.

Possiblynotever · 21/08/2019 23:45

Have been hoovering like hell...unfortunately I have a wooden floor so there is a.limited amount of.water that I can spread on....
Washed everything but now I worry about putting everything back on as fleas are still there....
House is a mess.and my daughter has plenty of bites....
Indorex should arrive tomorrow...I understand that you have to give it every 7 days.and then hoover/clean like crazy.....
Oh dear!!!

Staykill is shite. Indorex should do the trick. Clean and hoover first, then spray.

Check with the vet how soon you can treat again and if there's any alternative treatment in case they're immune to the usual one.

Thanks...given Indorex everywhere and left home for.the afternoon....( I believe it is quite toxic)...will go back to hoovering and washing all clothes and duvets....will put the rugs away and have them cleaned as well...mad!
