and it's not an absess or an infection - so am scared it's something more sinister.

And she's my baby - my first, and now retired guide dog.

so off to the vets tomorrow.

vet says she's not sure what the lump is. could be a harmless growth but says she can't be sure so she's got to go in on Monday to have it removed. Bit concerned about her having to have an anesthetic as she's 12 now so risk is increased, but hopefully it will just be something harmless.

Good luck vibes from a Lab owner and all round dog lover here. Hope she'll be okay. It's worrying when they get to your dog's age, anything that crops up could potentially be serious, so understand your concern. Try not to worry too much, she'll be in good hands.

hello

She went in today, came through the anesthetic fine. had lump removed and sent off for analyses, also had to have three teeth taken out as they were a bit horrid - they did a lovely scale and polish job on the rest though! . She's home now and is a bit groggy but vet assures me she'll be fine in a couple of days. can only eat soft food for about a week as she has stitches in her mouth - bless.
