Hi all. Me and my partner have just started doing Cat sitting. We just wanted a few opinions from people. Specially if your in birmingham.

This is our bio -

Hello and Welcome! Our names are Darren & Yvette. We are a couple who love our animals.... and we would love the opportunity to love yours too! We are new to Cat in a flat but definitely not new to being around and looking after animals. Our speciality is cats but we are great with all animals big and small. We currently have two fur children who we adore! You will get two of us for the price of one.... thats 2 x more cuddles and 2 x the fuss!!!! We both enjoy playing and fussing our cats and are complete animal lovers! We always carry a cat lazor pen with us as cats love chasing the little red dot! We both work for the NHS as caring professionals so we clearly care for people so we also want to care for animals too! We both have had numerous pets over the years with all different personality traits over the years, from cats to dogs to hamsters . Cat sitting services 30 minutes to 1 hour visit Service includes: Playing with your kitty. Feeding and putting down fresh water. Changing litter tray if necessary. Giving them some time outside if they go out. Giving your kitty some fuss and cuddles if that's what they like. Extras: Opening and closing curtains or blinds. Taking the bins out. Would you take up such a service?

I use a cat sitter and she does those jobs. She doesn't have the big flowery bio though! She does bins, blinds and moving post too

Fur babies? Sorry your post is hideous. I use my friend's teenager...

Can you not just state what jobs you do rather than the big story

I was just thinking as I would be a stranger to someone that a little flowery bio as someone has put would be a comfort to someone looking for a cat sitter. I see my cats as my fur babies... I dont find that hideous! People arent as lucky to have a friends teenager.... I would be insured so if anything is wrong with the animal I could get it looked it... rather then a teenager who may not spot an animal being unwell. But thanks for some of the input. All noted.

Sounds great apart from the fur babies and the laser pen, laser pens are not really advised for cats anymore as they can be really bad for a cats mental health as they never get to ‘catch’ something.

Yes too many exclamation points and too much info. It’s fine to say something about yourselves but at the moment it doesn’t sound professional an comes across a bit flakey. Just edit it by half and put what your services are at the beginning, not the end.

Bullet point what you do. I couldn't be arsed reading all that to find out. If I'm looking for a service I want it to be clear.

I suggest shortening it a good bit. It's a bio not a essay!!

Especially if it's online. The reality is people read very little of the contents on a screen.

I would add any extra services you are able to offer (if any) such as administering medicine

If I was going to use a service like that I'd be looking for someone who sounds more professional. You sound well meaning but flakey. That's not what I'd be after.

I would change taking the bins out to watering the plants. The bins aren't going to get full if no one's home!

Bins would need to be taken out if changing cat litter... that's why I added it in

I like the bulllet pointed one op.
Perhaps add in that you're insured and happy to administer medication/take to the vet (but would check with cat's owner first) if needed

Add watering the plants, and emptying the bin (first time you go) Nothing worse thatna bin going rancid when you're away.

Also consider something about being capable of giving a cat meds e.g pilling the cat and taking the cat to the vet if its unwell.

Stating that you're insured wouldn't go amiss.

I use Candyfloss cats in Glasgow who are on facebook if you're looking for ideas.

Take 'if necessary' away from the changing cat litter. If the cats are home alone it's going to be necessary.

Surely you would just take the cat litter out and bypass the indoor bins?

I mean for bin night. I would put them out for collection.
I will add I'm insured but this is already on the website I'm on. I just wanted a few ideas if you were looking for a cat sitter... I wanted to be able to stand out lol

I've tinkered with your words so just showing a different perspective. I personally would be put off by all the fluff. Is it possible to do a couple of free jobs for friends to try get some positive feedback??? I'm sure you will do well. Could you include cat pictures each visit as a nice touch that takes little effort? When I'm away and our two are being looked after, I need kitty pics 😺

My cat sitter puts the bins out for bin day so we come back to empty bins (ours are on a 3 weekly cycle so wouldn't want to leave them). She sent us pictures every couple of days too which was nice.

Whilst I agree that the first draft is a bit wordy, as a user of cat sitters, I like to see some enthusiasm and love for cats come through. I think some cat sitters are mainly dog walkers and they fit cat sitting in with that and I want my cat to get lots of attention and fuss. So mentioning that you love cats in particular would be a positive for me.

Nothing wrong with calling your cats fur babies either! Not something I do but I get what you mean.

Things that I also look out for are daily updates with a photo. I worry about my cat whilst I'm away and I hate not knowing whether the cat been and how my cat is so even if it's just a "all fine" type message, it makes a big difference to me.
