We have a 1.5 year old Havanese dog. He has a lovely character, great with our kids and fine around most dogs (usual bottom sniffing social interaction etc). No issues with separation anxiety. He does have a bit of a nervous disposition, so we made the deliberate decision to keep him 'intact'.
A while ago, he was attacked in the park by a Labrador. He was not injured but it seems to have left a lasting impression. Since then, we have noticed that every time he encounters a Labrador type dog when out on walks, he will growl and bark at them. He even spots them across the road, and will bark at them and pull on the lead to get nearer them. He remains fine with all other dog breeds, but unfortunately labradors are very common, so we encounter them on most walks.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can deal with this? Thanks in advance.
