Adopting a second male cat?

Bad idea with a 5 year old male cat already? He has lived with other cats briefly at one point and was ok after a while.
The cat I’m looking to adopt is an older cat who is very friendly and loving.

If it’s from a rescue, would they let you trial them together?

Good idea, I could ask. Would need a good couple of weeks I guess before knowing if it would work?

I would also take advice on how to introduce them. I think half the time it goes wrong because they haven’t been introduced correctly.
Good luck.

I was told it's best to adopt a younger female cat if you already have a male cat. However in my case and despite my best efforts to follow all the advice, etc even that didn't work out and I had to have the kitten rehomed which broke my heart as she was beautiful and I really loved her

Thanks for the advice everyone - (selfishly) that’s something I’m worried about Relais is that I’ll get really attached to him while he’s here and then have to give him back!
