every saturday she goes crazy to go out, if i don't let her out she usually escapes on a sunday, she's ok the rest of the week if i keep her in on a night. have kept her in for weeks, and she still goes, have tried that spray stuff and she looks at me like i'm stupid. my other 2 are fine but she's been at the old house for 6 years and just will not settle here, think she might go to a party or something, i don't know what else to do, any ideas?

lol @ cat going to a party

my dear departed gran would tell you to rub butter on it's paws.

j20baby · 26/06/2007 19:36

i wouldn't dare try to put butter on her paws, she'd eat me!

seriously, every sat night she goes mad, like theres somewhere for her to be! i don't think anyone's feeding her because she's really skinny when i finally find her again, she's a strange one.

can you give the vet a call ...for professional advice?

.....or follow her

j20baby · 26/06/2007 19:42

they just said keep her in, but like i say its only weekends she goes, and , if the stupid thing can find its way there to lay in our old garden or whatever she does, then surely she should find her own way back when she's hungry?! but oh no, that doesn't occur to queen chucky, who thinks she should get a car journey back each week. tbh, i don't think there's much i can do, apart from keep her in, which just isn't possible because she's so grumpy and goes mad to get out.

my cat is 2 years old we moved from the midland in england to north wales in a flat temp then got a house in the same place. when we first moved to the flat we kept it in for over a month then it went out. came back no problems. then we moved to a house we did the same. it kept going back for days on end and we cold not find it. we kept it in for 3 more weeks took it out on a lead! all that time. then let it out again and it was staving and we took it to the vets it cost a lot to get bloods done and all and nothing was found. we fed it and kept it in for a ole month again takeing it out at least 3 times a day even when it was dark. we just let it out yet again and it did the same it had bin gone a week and it was staving. we fed it and it went to bed pering but it came backk by its self this time.

Chewit - why not start a new thread here rather than tack onto a 2007 thread? I think you may get more answers.
