Shut cat in room with its food which it has refused to eat earlier.
Return to cooking to see cat saunter past window (it can get in and out the food room) and come back to the glass door to continue to annoy the dog.
Think maybe cat's food from earlier has gone off. Remove bowl from room, tip expensive Felix pouch into bin, wash bowl, fill with new expensive Felix pouch, go outside to fetch cat who won't come past dog, dog won't go away because it wants cat's food, pick up cat, drop struggling cat, open other door, shove food in, encourage cat in before dog can catch up, just make it. Then feed dog. Then watch cat saunter past window yet again, having ignored new food and come back to door to ask for... Food?
While distracted watching the cat's barefaced cheek, the dog starts eating DS's rice.
