I stopped giving my 2 cats annual jabs about 5 years ago. They have not been ill.

I have had to book for my two as they are going to a cattery this year I have NEVER vaccinated before and they are very healthy.My mum and my sister are constantly at the vets ££££££££&pou nd;£££ and theirs are vaccinated.Don't bother if you don't need it

I suppose if it the cat comes into contact with another infected cat if its out & about ?

I worked with vets pre-child and they are the worst for not vaccinating their animals!! A vet I knew said that cat vaccinations really lasted for 2 years, so a yearly booster is not necessary, you could get away with every two years if you really want. Or not at all, of course. Only real risk is prob cat flu - pretty infectious.

Our two haven't had them since they were tiny - they are 12 now and are fine - mad and annoying - but well !

There are loads of different macufactures of vaccines and all claim they stay in the system for different lengths of time, so I would listen to what your vets recomends because they will be working to the guide line from the company they deal with.
having a pet vaccinatied will not keep them 'healthy' it will help the body fight the infections it covers, cat flu, enteritis, feline leukemia etc.
If your cat never goes out, comes into contact with other cats that could potentially be a carrier or has to go into a catery then I personally wouldn't vaccinate. My cats go out and I would never miss a anual booster and neither do the vets/ nurses or other veterinay staff I work with.

Can't think that any of the cats we've ever had have had injection.. ...apart from the ones that were run over (unfortunately no injection to stop that) they've all lived upwards of 14 years with the oldest being 22 when she finally decided that she'd annoyed us for long enough....
