moles on my cats face

my cat has developed little mole like growths around his face. They are only tiny, barely noticable, but I wondered if this was normal or whether he needs a trip to the vet?

Doesn't sound normal to me - I would take him to the vet. A friend's cat developed a growth on its face that turned out to be cancerous, so if it's something like that, best catch it early.

Our cat had little black spots around her chin and mouth a few years back, when the vet saw them she diagnosed "feline acne". There was no treatment and they cleared up after a few months.

Are they not ticks?

I remember thinking my cat had a small growth/mole type thing on his head, turned out it was a tick awful things!

surely tics as pucca says?

Thinking back, i thought sod that i aint paying the vet loads of money to tie a bit of horse hair around a mole, so i tried to do it myself and the "mole" was the most ugly bloody thing i have ever seen! it popped its head out and was like something from the alien film!
