... would you mind answering some questions? I’m thinking of getting one.

1. How much does it cost to set up a home for snails?

1. What do they need to have in their tank? Which brands / types of product are the best quality?

1. How often do they need cleaning out?

1. How long do they live?

1. How big do they grow?

1. Do they need daily feeding?

1. Which are the most reliable and reputable online sellers?

They require more care than you’d imagine.

Our tank is a fish one, we use compost at the bottom, a water dish with sloping sides, a mister, food, heat mat (in a warm house you may be ok).

They need misting twice a day, feeding once.

Clean out every few weeks.

They need to be damp but not wet and that’s the tricky bit. We left ours with friends when we went on holiday and one died.

They live about 8 years. We’ve had ours for 9 ish months and she has grown enormously. We used to not be able to find her in the tank and now she is the size of dd’s hand.

She has a surprisingly amount of personality for a snail and enjoys being held.
