I don't know what to do? My cat got run over 2 days ago and I feel like my heart has been ripped out my chest, I can't eat or sleep and just cry all the time.
I miss him so so much, I have two children who are also very upset I am trying to stay strong for them but I just can't
I've never felt pain like this in my life!!
Has anybody got any advise how I can carry on with Normal life

I don't think you can go back to normal life until you have time to grieve.
It's so sad to lose a pet and it's early days.
Each day you may feel slightly less tearful and sad but I think you are still very much in shock. 😘

Ah, I'm so sorry. Poor puss.

It just takes time, like with any bereavement. There's no magic button to press to make you feel better again. Flowers

Awww I'm so sorry!

No advice or anything I can say will help take away the pain.

Just so sorry for you. Xx

Oh I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and how badly it's affecting you. Pets become part of the family so your heartbreak is completely understandable.
I hope you start to feel a little better soon xx

I am so sorry for your loss. You’ve had a terrible shock and it’s devastating to lose a pet this way.

There is no easy way to get through this, you just have to grieve.

Flowers for you all

TheWizardofWas · 28/06/2018 20:11

So sorry. Time heals. With luck it was quick and painless.

MinaPaws · 28/06/2018 20:14

I'm so sorry. Losing a loved pet is like losing a family member. It really is. They have been part of your home and your family for so long. You can't help grieving for them. It's natural.

Have you made a memorial for him? We had a plaque made (by my mum) and buried him then planted a ginger-coloured rose over him to commemorate him as he was a ginger tom. Having a spot in the garden that honours him helps for some reason. No idea why, it just does.

SoddingUnicorns · 28/06/2018 20:15

Oh OP Flowers for you. We lost our beautiful boy the same way 2 years ago and I cried for days (and I don’t cry, ever). It gets less raw with time, but you need to give yourself time to grieve. It’s such a brutal horrible shock, especially if you saw it.

Sending very unMNetty hugs Flowers

ScreamingValenta · 28/06/2018 20:16

Flowers I'm so sorry to hear this, Callum. You need time to grieve for your loss. There will come a time, one day, when you can look back on your happy memories in peace. Flowers

ScreamingValenta · 28/06/2018 20:17

MinaPaws What a lovely way to remember your beautiful ginger boy.

SoddingUnicorns · 28/06/2018 20:18

I agree with MinaPaws idea, we did the same sort of thing and it helped. Especially for the kids.

Mari0990 · 28/06/2018 20:19

Oh I’m so sorry OP, that must have been such a shock. I really hope you can slowly start to feel a little better with time..Flowers

FriendlyOcelot · 28/06/2018 20:19

It happened to me too once, I was inconsolable for days and it was like a massive wave of grief like I’d never known before hit me. I’m so sorry, it will get better Flowers

BettaSplenden · 28/06/2018 20:23

I've been there. It's horrific. Give yourself time to grieve and don't think your being stupid cos you aren't. Do something nice with the kids to remember him by x
