SW19/SW18 My cat is missing - have you seen it?

Hello all,

This is a bit of a last resort - our pet cat Odin has gone missing since the 21st of April. This is very unlike him, as he has come home every nights for the past three years.

He usually roams around the Southfields West area, close to Wimbledon Common, but he's never actually crossed the road into the common.

He is a tabby brown long haired cat, with a mane, a bushy tail and four dark brown pads. He was wearing a light blue collar with a bell and is micro-chipped.

If you see him, please please do get in touch - we're missing him terribly.

I'm trying to figure out how to attach a picture to this thread - will hopefully do that soon.

Thank you

Here is a link to a tweet from the Wimbledon Common, who kindly tweeted out our missing cat poster.

Thanks again

Thanks kissthealderman - I'm happy to see that the advice being given out is consistent! My husband and I have done all those things, and we're hoping that they're making a difference!

Not knowing what happened, or if he's going to come back at all, is excruciating. This cat is family to us, and he means more to us than many people we know... Maybe a weird thing to say!

In any case, thank you so much for your kind and useful advice!

Post on DogLost which has enormous amount of local followers/volunteers. People do put cats on there.

Kawabunza · 25/04/2018 12:25

Thanks @mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork! I've just posted Odin as missing on the site. Hopefully a friendly dog walking will see him soon and get in touch.

I know that lots of people have gone through something similar, but it's not until it happens to you that you understand how earth-shattering it feels.

Thank you for the replies!

What a absolutely gorgeous cat, really hope he comes home soon. Flowers

Kawabunza · 28/04/2018 07:04

Thanks @Cheripie64. We really hope so too. There's still no sign of him, and it's been a week now. We're kind of at a loss for what to do next. Feels like all we can do is wait to see if he decides to show up, or if the micro chip company calls us to tell us he's been found.

Have you been out locally calling for him (if he usually answers to his name)? Both times I've had missing cats - once as a child and once much more recently - this has been what made our cat return.

Kawabunza · 28/04/2018 11:07

Hi @headintheproverbial. Yes, we've been out calling for him, and we've done it at different times of the day too.

We've been out with food, and with his plate (that we tap to let him know it's time to eat) - he usually comes running for that.

We're going to put up some more posters today - someone removed 3 from the bottom of the street Angry

GREAT NEWS! Odin's back home - he just rocked up at our window as if nothing had happened! He's a bit skinnier and a bit damp, but apart from that looks quite healthy. A HUGE HUGE thank you to all of you for your support!

Literally strolled in, shook some dirty water off his fur, and meowed for his food Grin

We are over the moon - still in shock!

Fizzy tastes fantastic :D
