Anyone know anything about rabbits?

My rabbit is a year old, and just recently she has been hiding herself away in the closed off part of her hutch, she has hardly touched her food, and when i checked her food it had a funny mucus like trail over it. She is not her lively self and is just sitting there. Her nose loks all pale too. Anyone know what it might be?

nope but sounds like time for a trip to the vet

Definitely a trip to the vet. Rabbits can go down hill rapidly. Sounds like she may have an infection of some sort..... or pregnant?!?!?!

don't think i've come across that with my rabbits. though they sometimes get runny eyes if their teeth are playing up. maybe it's a cold. vets probably best option

toothache, it would have to be the immaculate conception, or else I may have to ask my dh a few questions.....

Could she be PG?

don't worry, she can have antibiotics, so long as she also has probiotics but your vet will only prescribe them if absolutely necc as they do interfere with the natural gut flora which bunnies need to digest their food.

I would be inclined to visit the vet if no better by the morning, in the mean time, keep a check on her genitals as if these are swollen it can be a sign of myxi. It could be her teeth from what you are saying, have you noticed soft poos? i would offer her some yummy soft foods, such as cabbage or brocoli (NO lettuce) as it is not good for rabbits not to eat as this too disturbs the gut flora and can lead to a problem.

If she is not eating you need to see a vet now - do not wait until tomorrow. Certain antibiotics are safe for rabbits to take, but only if indicated. This may be either a primary digestive problem, or a tooth related problem. Either way, not eating for 24hrs + is a VERY serious situation and needs prompt attention.
