I just lost my beautiful Pudy I had him since he was 6 weeks old to 11 years
I have been with my husband 5 years
Pudy we thought had a mouth infection we took him to vets he has mouth cancer vets saisbuts aggressive it grows very quick Pusybwould of his any problems but he got a secondary infection so that’s the only resin we thought he had a problem

He had to be put to sleep :(

I’ve always had cats my husband grew up with no pets we have a dog we adore but I love cats

I don’t want to replace Pudy as he’s not replaceable band I wantvtaking now but in 6-12 months but he’s making snide comments about me having one and I feel very controlled over this.
I do everything for him his child and my children and I feel I shouldn’t be told I can’t like I’m 12 years old.
We work from home and I don’t see the problem.
When I ask him why the hostility he makes jokes about oh teddy ( our dog ) wouldn’t likenitvans how it would tie us down ??? Which is silly as so do dogs.

Not sure what to think but I hate anyone trying to control me.

It’s not a case of him being upset that’s lasted 2-3 minutes he used to main Pudy wanted to sit in our bed

If the cost is an issue for him, could you think about a rescue cat? There are some beautiful ones, and the donation to the rescue will be far less than the cost of a pedigree cat.

I'm reading £1000 is price for a MC kitten; I'd be if DH wanted to blow that on a cat, myself. Drops to more like £450 for an adult MC cat. Lots of gorgeous cats in shelters need homes.

Have you talked to your husband about how much you miss Pudy and what an important part of your life he was? If your husband has a deep bond with the dog, perhaps that's a route to making him understand.

Hi OP, I totally get where you are coming from. Please don't listen to the haters. I have always gone for rescue cats throughout my life but for my last cat (for many reasons) I bought a Maine Coon from a breeder for £650. I got quite a lot of surprised looks for it but it was the best decision I have made. He is amazing and fits in so well with my family and lifestyle. My other cat and he get on very well which I was most worried about.

I think you should just go ahead and get one. People spend money on lots of things that other people think is outrageous or a waste, but it isn't a waste of money to you. Life's too short for a cat lover to be without a cat.
