Help me name our cat !

Picked her from the rescue place today - 10m so cute
Shes black with white paws & white under her chin. Currently called Bella but that reminds me of the Tweenies too much.

We have a few names in mind - but want to steer clear of 'normal' names like Sooty !
DS wants to call her Pheobe - no idea why!

Come on MNers - come up with something cool!

i like pheobe.

it depends, do you want to go for a human name eg pheobe, mary-lou, hollie, abby etc or a pet name eg blossom, bubbles, honey, muffin....

look here

SusanStoHelit · 28/04/2007 17:52

i'd let ds name her tbh

phoebe's nice

saintmaybe · 28/04/2007 17:56

I used to know a cat called 'the universe'

whomovedmychocolate · 28/04/2007 17:56

Make sure you name her something you won't be embarrassed yelling in the garden while banging a dish with a spoon.

'arrgerrofoutofit' is a good name for a cat.

We have one called 'you'vealreadybeenfedyougreedybugger' too

I had one called Minou (it means 'sweety pie' in french). She wasn't though

rabbleraiser · 28/04/2007 17:57

How about Mass Murderer? [wink}

Sorry

whomovedmychocolate · 28/04/2007 17:59

'urrrghisteppedinamouse' ?

Whizzz · 28/04/2007 18:00

I did look on one of those online name thingies - listed amonst Tigger & Fluffy was the name Bugger

OP posts:
motherinferior · 28/04/2007 18:20

I was going to suggest Youevilbugger too

The Inferiorettes actually think our cat is The Big Buggler, as a kind of endearmeent. The L, obviously, is very important.

LazyLineThreadKiller · 28/04/2007 18:21

Bernard

motherinferior · 28/04/2007 18:21

Fatfurrybastard is quite used round here too.

Jomist · 28/04/2007 18:22

Not sure that you'll want my suggestions - I called mine Chicken and Banana...but let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.

DumbledoresGirl · 28/04/2007 18:24

The sweeter the pet, the more maniacal the name IMO. We called one of our cats after Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter arch villain), the other one, we called Muffin, but only because I couldn't think of someone equally evil.

How about something along the lines of Cruella (de Vil) Morgan (le fay) or Myra (Hindley)?

I've always been tempted to use Rover, for a cat.

Previous owner of my cat called her Clive (and her sister Derek)...

MoreSpamThanGlam · 28/04/2007 18:48

My spaniel is called Dave. But we call him Fusal, because he was confused when i came home with our new baby as to why he was no longer "the baby". We actually call him Fuser now...

My kids wanted to call him Chicken or Lampost or Rocky Rock star.

He is very camp.

Just reread my post and I think we need family therapy

snowleopard · 28/04/2007 18:51

I've always wanted to call a cat Wolfie or Sausage, but mine keep coming with names ready attached.

newlifenewname · 28/04/2007 18:55

Our cats were called Eyeball, Chinstrap, Fred, Millie, Ralph, Dotty and Melody.

Mostly named by the chidren.

SweetyDarling · 28/04/2007 19:28

Cfer.

Wilkie · 28/04/2007 19:29

newlifenewname - PMSL chinstrap

I like Dave for a cat, or Barbara. Seriously, just think they are cool maybe I'm odd??

Mine is called Poppy but she was already named when we got her

bubblerock · 28/04/2007 19:33

Wilson?

Phoebe is a cute name!

whomovedmychocolate · 28/04/2007 20:03

My mum's cat (named by the grandchildren) is called 'Scamp' or 'Mr Softy'. She hates children.

mollymawk · 28/04/2007 20:11

I've always thought Scarpia is a great name for a cat.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 28/04/2007 20:18

There might be something here

GreatGooglyMoogly · 28/04/2007 20:28

If you were going to use the black and white feature you could use penguin (or adelie), zebra, panda, domino, etc

Or a name from Cats?
