Eeeewww!!! Cat has ticks! Bleurgh!!

God knows how as she never goes anywhere outside, she is practically a housecat!! And now, dp has rung up to report finding one on ds' head! Can you get a tick collar or something?! Hope someone can help, will check back later when my toes have uncurled!! Thanks!

You'll have to kill them one at a time. You can dampen a piece of cotton wool with methylated spirits and hold it on the tick until it releases. Do not attempt to pull it off, the head will stay behind and cause an infection. After the tick released burn it with a lighter or cut it in half with a pair of scissors.

You could try oil as well, it doesn't work as well as the meths, but will. Again, do not try an pull it off!

you can buy a tick remover from a vets or use frontline on it, it kills ticks aswell as fleas
