Should we get another dog?

So our cavalier king Charles died age
duced outgoings on pets and the simplicity of only one dog. I work part time three days a week sometimes from home and hubby commutes to London four days a week. Six months in I've been beginning to think about another dog though certain hubby would say no. I have always had a yearning for a lab and have just seen a gumtree ad for yellow puppies! My head is telling me to just settle down and stop thinking about anymore pets but my head... my eldest son has left home, my youngest son is away at Uni and our daughter is in sixth form. Dilemma. Is this going to be an itch I'm going to have to scratch eventually? Is it worth falling out with dh over?

Those puppies are likely from a puppy farm, op. Definitely think on this a bit longer.

Sorry half this post disappeared! Basically we have a lhasa apso and a cat now. Hubby not keen. Starting to yearn for another dog.

But not from Gumtree.

It's really not fair to go ahead and get another dog if your DH doesn't want one, you really need both of you on board.

If you both agree to get another puppy then either take the time to find a decent breeder or, if you're happy to take on a puppy from a less than ideal breeder (which, chances are, puppies sold on Gumtree will be in one way or another), then wait until the Xmas puppies start getting dumped in rescues.
