My parents´ cats have always been fed twice a day and they are 17!

my three are twice a day kits, although middle kit is projectile vomiting (nothing to do with two feeds a day!) and going to the vets tomorrow!

If I didn't feed my cat twice a day she would eventually end up killing me by tripping me up - the hungrier she gets, the harder she rubs/pushes my legs (oh and she has been known to bit my ankle too!)

Cats generally need feeding twice a day, I believe, unlike dogs who can cope with once. We've always fed ours twice a day. But cats are good at coaxing you to feed them umpteen times a day. My mum is looking after our cat while we're abroad and the cat is now huge because mum interprets every miaow as 'feed me NOW!!'

sue - oops! ....oh i thought you knock it down to one meal a day. Thats fine as long as i know! before she start screaming at me!
