Hello all,
My almost 3 year old cat was a house cat for the first two years of her life.
We moved to a house with a big garden and it became harder and harder to keep her in so we started to let her out.
Over the space of 6 months she's gone from a timid cat to an out door pro. She's had all jabs, spayed, microchipped, fleas, worms treatments etc and I feel confident letting her out now.
It's a rented house so no cat flap. we're out for long periods so if I let her out she can't come back in until we get home. She loves it outside and scratches the door to go out however...I've noticed as soon as she comes in she darts for the litter tray, every time so I think she's holding it in and not 'going' outside.
Litter tray is no problem as I keep her in at night but I want to let her go out in the day as that's where she wants to be.
Putting the litter tray out every day isnt practical as it's a heavy wooden ottoman I converted myself and not really wanting another litter tray in the garden because of other cats and foxes (and toddler).
How can I teach her to be comfortable going to the toilet outside, any tips?
Thanks :)
