So we are going away for 10 days in the summer and I booked my two lovely cats into a cattery nearby which we had used years ago for another cat. My two present cats have never been to a cattery.
I did visit and it seemed OK - not great but not enough warning bells as we had used it before.
Since then 4 separate people have warned against this cattery on various online forums. They recommended other catteries . I phoned them all and all were booked up.
I have used a reliable cat visiting service previously but never for as long as 10 days. They come once a day and feed cays etc. They are quite good and I am sure I could supplement their visits with a kind lady on my estate who offered to help. The cat visiting people were great when they were a new company : they hovered, kept stuff clean and so o. They left Dreamies! They post pictures on Facebook and so on. The last few times they have maybe been less like this but still no issues.
We have no catflap so cats would be inside for the duration.
My question : do you think 10 days is too long to leave cats in the house with once daily visits? I could increase to twice daily but then that becomes more expensive than a cattery.
