Heatwave - Warning for Cats and others

Sadly, my little cat has passed away. She went out yesterday around 11am for a run around the garden. She didn't return. My vet is located at the top of my road and this morning I popped in to ask if her chip could help find her. They had just received a phone call from a neighbour to say they had found a dead cat in their garden. I suspected the foxes, but when her body was picked up by the vet she had no trauma at all. I am waiting to hear if they can determine how she died but I am thinking that she went to sleep in the neighbour's garden and the heat took over. It was 32 degrees yesterday. So, just to let everyone know please take care of your kittens and cats in this heat.

I am so sorry Flowers

My cat (12.5) died last week. It's truly heartbreaking. Look after yourself.

Normally cats find the shade to take shelter from the sun. There is a forum called Cat Chat that has lots of advice. In a recent post, a cat owner was asking if her cats should be trimmed for the summer? The conclusion was that the hair acts as a barrier from the heat in summer, as well as keeping them warm in winter. My two curl up in the garden under the bushes.
Sadly, one went missing on Sunday Evening. He is chipped and has a color with a magnetic catflap disc that has my number on. Not heard anything to date, so there's hope he will return? Perhaps locked in someones garage or shed?

Got up to use the loo at 4am Thursday, and to my surprise sitting on top of stairs. Where been for four days, anyone's guess.
And yes, the others and him curl up under the shrubbery where's there shade.
