we got a cat from the cat procection on friday she is two years old and they told us we should keep her in for a month before letting her out, is this the normal amount of time most people do or is it quite a long time she seems dieing to go out already (not that i am going to let her)

Hi, you should leave then in for about 3wks, this give sthen enought time to forget about their previous home and try to get there.

Agree with Jodie. I know it's hard but at least three weeks, so that she knows you are her new home. Apparently a good indicator of whether they are ready to go out (and then come back again) is when they stop clamouring to get out. I suppose it means they are settled with you.
