DD2, 12, wants a pet.
DH and I categorically do not want to look after a pet ourselves.
otoh, She clearly has an interest in animals, and I could see her doing an animal based career, so it's getting to the point where it seems mean not to let her.
What would make a good starter pet?
- Short lifespan (in case she gets bored)
- Easy to look after (for DD, me if I have to take over, neighbours when we are away)
- not smelly
