Want a cat should i or shouldn't I?

i have been nagging my husband for a cat but he keeps saying no. Recently i have seen a few that i like but i'm holding myself back. we have had one in the past so i know what a responsibility it can be.

He has finally agreed but he said id be responsible, funny really because i always end up being responsible whether a pet is mine or not, so thats not the issue.

I know its a problem when it comes to holidays. We ended up taking our last cat with us and for the most part it was ok, until my nephews terrorised it and she hissed a lot and hid.

i know pet sitters are available but are they safe to use? this isnt my house its rented so i dont want any stranger damaging my home or having house parties whilst i am away. I usually go away once in the year for 1 week,but i dont go away every single year, but i still want to have a plan if i decide to go.

im not so keen on catteries.

So tell me your thoughts my husband requires answers otherwise i can't have one.....

I've never used a pet sitter but I'd assume they come via an agency who'd check out references.

Good catteries are fine, but get recommendations to make sure the one you use is a good one.

However, as your house is rented, the first thing I'd do is check to see if your landlord allows pets - lots of them don't.

I use a cat sitter. She's a gem. I googled local catterys and found some did home visits. I would have absolutely o qualms about putting my girls in a cattery but due to their back ground. They need to stay at home. It's also reassuring to know that someone is going to the house.

Ps I also love in rented. I just asked my landlady if it was ok. She said it was fine. Signed a contract saying I'd make good any damage they caused and that was that.

my landlord is fine with it. I finally found a cat i wanted, i really want a maine coone and i spoke to a woman about the kitten. Only to be told by my husband he doesn't think it's a good idea now?.

im upset but whats the point in forcing the issue. Maybe if i reach my 50s i can finally get one, hopefully i don't acquire serious health issues before that time.
