Does anyone else buy their pet a Christmas present?

Dp thinks I'm mad for buying Hcat Christmas gifts, surely I'm not the only one that does this?Xmas Blush

Yes, but my friends cats are getting more presents from me than mine are. It's not occurred to him to give them presents.

Idrinkandiknowstuff · 15/12/2016 12:36

Of course. DDog gets a stocking with the same number of presents in it as DH and have. We take turns opening a present, and the dog has his turn as well. He also has a bottle of dog beer, when we open the champagne.

blueskyinmarch · 15/12/2016 12:39

I have a gift for DDog under the tree all lovingly wrapped and labelled. DDog is buying my DH a bottle of whisky and i rather hope she has bought me some gin! She is a good dog who loves us and knows us very well. Xmas Grin

schrutefarmbeets · 15/12/2016 12:40

Ddog has two advent calendars this year and she's bought everyone comfy walking socks to take her on more adventures...

daisychicken · 15/12/2016 12:43

Ddog gets Christmas dinner and a pressie off us - a jumper this year.

I normally buy a pack of treats as well but he has doggy ibs and reacts to anything 'different'.

Budgiebonbon · 15/12/2016 12:46

Yes- She also has an advent calendar, a Santa hat, Christmas Jumper & she has sent my DP's a photo Christmas card Blush

My Dad's Dog who does obedience training went to their Christmas party this week and they all got a gift from Santa Paws & played party games for Sausages!

MiddleClassProblem · 15/12/2016 12:48

This is normal hence why pet shops and supermarkets stock such things. Just enjoy spoiling your furry loved one!

DearMrDilkington · 15/12/2016 12:50

Glad its normal!Xmas Grin

Dcat has some lovely new snazzy bowls coming for Christmas and I've also spotted a dreamies gift set he would loveXmas Wink.

Yep. Our cat has a couple of presents from us, and PIL get her some bits (treats etc) too. Would get her a cat advent calendar too but she's the only cat in the universe who is scared of unbothered by catnip so she just watches us open ours and has a good sniff of the chocolate!! Bought her one the first Christmas we had her and after opening two windows realised it was a total waste Hmm

FrickOnAStick · 15/12/2016 12:51

Yes.

Guinea pig has a big hanging gnaw treat.

Cat has dreamies and a tin of tuna.

Completely normal. They are part of the family.

FrickOnAStick · 15/12/2016 12:52

My mum always buys for our pets too. I bought for hers when she had them. DH's relatives think we're bonkers. Grin

Scrappysmammy · 15/12/2016 12:53

We buy for Scrappy, it's usually treats and balls wrapped and maybe a new jumper.

Paris1986 · 15/12/2016 12:53

spotted a dreamies gift set

Is that the yellow tin? I got all excited by that too. Though before I had chance to buy she's developed an obsession with Wilko's posh duck/chicken strips which are only £1. They're something like 65% meat so I don't even feel guilty giving them to her Smile

Paris1986 · 15/12/2016 12:54

Oops, he. Sorry!!

Paris1986 · 15/12/2016 12:54

Argh stupid phone!! SHE!

Breagha85 · 15/12/2016 12:58

Yes - and they get to open them themselves.

All three are getting a treat stocking and additionally mine (other two are DFs) is getting a Nerf ball launching gun.

Autumnchill · 15/12/2016 13:20

SIL has just got her first dog and he's gorgeous. He's getting a tin of Tesco doggie biscuits in a nice tin

DearMrDilkington · 15/12/2016 13:29

Paris yes that's the one! I've been looking for a tin to keep his treats in, so it's a gift for us bothGrin.

I buy our DDogs presents, and people may think it's mad but I don't care Smile They know what a present is and they delight in ripping the wrapping off. At the very least it is an extremely fun game.

I buy for cats, but don't wrap or present them with it...because they don't care Grin

pinkieandperkie · 15/12/2016 13:51

Yes I get my two dogs presents and I wrap them up. My sister does the same. My mum also gets presents for our dogs.
