Sorry we binned our carpet too.......bicarb of soda?

JanH · 14/02/2007 21:06

Bicarb should work, Orinoco - although it is a foul, really strong smell, isn't it?

Is it just one patch? Make a thin paste of bicarb and water, rub it in with a cloth, let it dry and hoover out - it should take the smell away. Good luck.

Apparently the best thing for urine smell is bio washing powder, can you try srubbing it with some of that, tee tree is also good.

my friend swears by milton sterilising fluid mixed with fabric conditioner hth

How about washing/wetting it and sprinkling cat litter over the area. Leave it to dry and then hoover it. That should absorb it along with any smell?

Bio washing powder will remove the smell, but you should also wipe the area with surgical spirit as cat urine has fatty deposits in it which will survive the washing powder.

Simple Solution. You can buy it from the pet shop. You squirt it on the area and leave it to dry. That's it! It really works.
