PUPPY ATE OWN POOP

Can someone help please, my 10 week old puppy had just ate her own poop, Why? Is she ill?

Its totally normal for them to eat their own bab when their pups.

Puppies do that sometimes - have no idea why but maybe someone else will be able to tell you. However, don't panic as your puupy is not ill and she will be fine.

When I was a kid we had a young dog and he used to go around the field and "clear up" after all the others.

the other day my dog gently vomited up the dog food she had just eaten. she spent a minute or so sniffing the little brown pile, and then gently ate it all up again.

dogs are gross, lets face it

I have seen a dog do this once it was gross! yuck.

I believe the technical term for this is cographobia.

Thank you for your comments. I am now not so concerned. We have homed four pups and this little one was homed at the beginning of last week but because of allergies came back to us. I hope to find a home soon. Thank you all so very much for putting my mind at ease. I have had dogs all my life but have never come across this before,

All the more reason not to own a dog - yuk!

My parents dog used to do it often (can't remember if it was only whilst she was a puppy).

our dog ate dd's poo once when I left her nappy lying open bleurgh!!

She also used to be carsick on the way to dog training and eat it on the way back!It did save me from clearing it up though.

One of our dogs always eats the other ones poo but never her own. We never let her lick our faces anyway but even wehn I tell other people this they still let her do it to them

My dog eats his own poo if he gets the chance. He is also happy to eat his dinner after its been puked up! No wonder his breath is rotten.

Nothing is as gross as when a dog eats a whole pile of horse s**t (usually quite a wholesome smell IMO) and then vomits it up. The stink - and it is huuuuuuuuge!

I have worse, my dog ate part of a dead rabbit and some rabbit pooh and vomited that up all over the lounge carpet - dogs are disgusting - but you have to love em !
