had the cat flap installed, now he won't use it!

Please tell me how you persuaded to use your cat to use the flap?

Or my lovely door will have been wrecked for nothing!!

Have you posted him through it a few times? Give him the idea?

We have tried this but he puts his arms out in star position which acts like a brake

Me too and I'm struggling to find a way to get her to use it. I've tried treats. Not sure what else I can do,

hahah oh dear. What about propping it open so he can see out?

I've been doing the propping open but still no further forward. I might try a more permanent prop. I worry about other furry animals getting in.

I would prop it up for a few days (wait until the weather is warm and dry) so he can get in and out freely and put treats on the other side of it. Once he's happy using it propped open put it down.

I also found my cat was happy to use the cat flap when no-one was home and she wanted to go in/ out but when people were home she would just miaow by a window/ door and we'd usually give in and let her in/ out before she'd use the cat flap!
