Moral Pet Question for your children....

DDs (9) rat has a sore foot, so I laughingly said, Good Job youve got Xmas money, you can pay the vet...
Which got us onto the subject...Would she pay £10 to save the rat, or would she let it die.
She wont answer, Shes said I will pay...

Well I asked DS1, who is only 3. He said he would pay the money of ten pennies. Hmm, not sure if he misheard my ten pound or would only give ten pennies to save the beloved family cat.

Mine would pay up, but only as they don't have a clue of the value of money. To them ten quid is the same as ten pence, so they'd probably hand over their Christmas money quite willingly. Hhhm, now there's a thought ...

Dd1 would give up a tenner in a shot, no question.

Dd2 wouldn't have her own pet in the first place - precisely because this sort of issue would put her in a dilemma!

Ah...now we have been to the vets and ive paid the bill shes saying she would cough up

Sort of had this issue-puupy caused HUGE vet bill a few months before christmas. We decided to have a family debate about at what point we stopped trying to treat him as money is certainly an issue. Both Dds (6&11) got quite upset that we were even asking and immediately decided to cancel christmas. Thankfully puppy recovered soon!
