Anyone got fantail doves?

My house came with a dovecote and I have always wanted some.
I have had chickens but never kept doves. Anyone here with experience?

No experience I'm afraid but am watching with interest as I would love to do this too!

They're lovely aren't they Bary? And make a nice noise.

I've become a bit of a bird nerd in the past few months since moving house to a place next to a little wood - we get so many birds in our garden and I just love watching them! I also read this book - the author has doves as well as her rook and magpie, that's what has given me the notion to keep doves!

I'm seriously thinking of getting chickens - not to hijack your thread or change the subject but did you enjoy keeping yours?

Yes I did, and I am on the verge of getting some more. Dh really misses the eggs.
