Help what is the behaviour of a stressed cat?

Our new cat is probably infected with some parasite however the RSPCA said this could be because he is stressed. How do I know if he's stressed?

He is 7, does not complain at being shut in the kitchen at night, sleeps a fair bit during the day usually under our bed. Will sit on his cat tree in the longe even when the dds are around being noisy etc. He will come for attention to me and dp at every opportunity and sit on us at every opportunity. He will play like a lunatic with bits of paper. He eats, uses his litter tray, will have the odd wander around the garden and always come back (previously a house cat).

Does he sound stressed or am I missing something obvious? He seems quite similar to our previous cat in behaviour but I don't want to keep him if he is stressed and unhappy with us.

Advice please

Don't quite understand what the problem is!

Have the RSPCA told you he is infected with a parasite?

Why do you think he's stressed? He doesn't sound stressed to me. He just sounds like a regular moggy.

He had symptoms of untreated worms so he was rewormed and had antibiotics, plus his fellow roomate thru up a tape worm - he is still with RSPCA. The symptoms are still there and one of the other cats from his original home has been very unwell and turns out has a parasite, 3 of the other cats (all young tho) do not have this parasite though.

However this patasite and/or his symptoms can occur due to stress. He's a somali a breed that like a lot of human interactioin and he has gone from being one of 15 cats to a house with 4 kids I'm just worried he is not happy and a bit stressed.

Our previous cat was moggie and so laid back it was untrue.
