On my bed

Wherever she likes - she's a 10 stone Newfoundland. She usually settles for the landing but has been known to pin me in my bed when my dh is working away. Think she feels she's protecting me!

Wherever they like!!

MummyPenguin · 03/01/2007 17:24

I recently bought my two a new bed each. Those big floor cushion type. Slap bang in the middle of one is......... the cat. The dog is probably lying on the floor. Our Goldie likes to sleep on the floor at the bottom of my bed. Has been known to sneak into DS2's bottom bunk when DS2 comes into my bed. The dog's on the bottom, DS1 on the top!!

Our dog used to sleep in a kennel in the garden. Healthiest place for them...

Our border collie has a bed in the alcove under the stairs in the living room so she can have peace if she wants it which is never.
She tends to sleep on the floor right beneath you on the sofa so you trip over her when you get up.
She is not allowed on the sofa but does sneal up when we are not down there so we have taken to shutting her in ktichen at night as we have a new leather suite and I dont want it sctratched. She has the old sofa cushions in the kitchen at night,

She has a bed next to the radiator in the dining room next to the cats bed. But they often snuggle up together although the cat is definitely in charge.

We have just got a puppy and she sleeps in the kitchen in a dog bed. I use puppy mats on the floor at night and she does wee on them and not on the floor. She is 12 weeks and nearly housetrained. I agree with the moppable space comment . I am converting a bit of the garage to a utility room as the mud coming in to the house is horrendous. Also as we dont have a dining room Im not sure all my guests want to eat dinner next to the dog crate

Dog sleeps in the dining/kitchen room. Cat sleeps with dp in his room!

cece · 03/01/2007 21:43

I am really quite shocked at how many people let their dog sleep in the house at night

sullysmum · 03/01/2007 22:41

In the lounge during day, but at night one in lounge, one next to our bed and one on our bed!

MummyPenguin · 03/01/2007 22:45

Would you fancy sleeping in a kennel in the garden in this weather, cece?

cece · 04/01/2007 14:16

My dog slept in a kennel in the garden for 15 years. Every morning she was warm as toast. Hardly ever at the vets and she went in willingly every night at bed time with a wagguing tail.

No I would not like to sleep in a kennel in the garden myslef but then I am a person and not a dog (LOL - please no comments on that please! )
