Hi

I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any ideas on what may be wrong with my 10 year old bitch.

She has become slightly urinary incontinent of late, which is not unusual I know and is being treated successfully.

However, over the last couple of weeks, when she has been very asleep, there is a large wet patch where she has been sleeping. At first I thought maybe her medication wasn't working properly, but when I smelt the wet patch I realised that it smelt absolutely horrendous!! Not the smell of wee which is what I had expected. The vet tested her urine a month or so ago when she started her medication and it was fine, and she seems fit, well and happy in herself. But our carpet is getting ruined and I'm getting very worried as to what it may be. I shall be taking her back to the vets this week, but I just wondered if in the meantime anyone may have any ideas...?

Thanks for any help.

My 12 yr old bitch has this problem, although I haven't noticed a nasty smell. Is she drinking enough water, could it be just really concentrated wee?
My first thought would have been an infection ,may be worth testing again.

a stab in the dark - could it be very runny diarrhea?

Or a 'female' problem?
