Hi, our English Springer Spaniel who is nearly 9 has just given birth to her first litter. She has 5 healthy pups but unfortunately her first pup died
We set up a whelping area for her in the spare bedroom but she decided to have her babies on my bed anyway!! They are now in a box in my bedroom and all feeding well. Missie (the mum) is doing brilliantly, I never thought she'd do so well considering her age. My daughter's dog Jack is the father and he is clueless!! He's just sitting outside the door and whining.
Hope everything goes well for you
Faith

Friend of mine cocker spaniel had puppies/ She got a note book and weighed them everyday for the first couple of weeks I think just to make sure they were gaining weight and didn't need extra feeing. This worked really well she said.
