A cat has attacked my rabbit

I'm so upset.
My rabbit was playing in his own garden and a cat has got in and attacked it.
I only went in my house to make a coffee. I was gone 5 minutes.

I caught the cat mauling my bun and chased it away.

I'm so angry and upset. I'm hoping he won't die in the night.

I have a 10ft fence and those electric devises all around my property to keep the bloody things away.

I've planted Lily's everywhere too.

Have you taken your bun to a vet?

My neighbour is a vet. He's told me to bring him in and keep him in a quiet room.

His wounds are superficial but I'm hoping the shock doesn't kill him

I'm sorry this has happened, I am not excusing the cat but I have to wonder about planting lilies.

Lilies don't keep cats away, but their pollen does kill them. Why on earth would you want someone else to watch their pet die from poisoning.

There are many plants/flowers that are poisonous to cats, but planting something specifically for the purpose of harm is questionable behaviour.

I don't want to kill cats. Just keep them away from my rabbits. I had no idea that they could kill them

I've spent a fortune on them now and dp will be fuming if I pull them up.

Cats like lilies. Unfortunately, lilies kill cats. So the cats are attracted to the smell of the lilies, ingest the pollen and die.

Could you move the lilies? They probably aren't going to help your cat problem...with lilies and a rabbit, your garden is a bored cat paradise.

The Lily's are in pots dotted around the garden.

Orange or lemon peel or f you can get it lion poo will all deter cats.

Op I'm so sorry to hear this, I have 2 bunnies and six cats and thought cats attacking rabbits didn't happen. Will take this risk on board, as my cats are lovely to bunnies so I'm not that hot on security for other cats coming into the garden.

One of our bunnies was attacked by a Fox 2 years ago and is still going strong, so hopefully your rabbit will make a full recovery x

Those model cat scarers deter my cats from neighbouring gardens and a water gun fired at cats will have some effect (though obviously you can't stand guard all day).
