Chickens! How long until they start laying?

Bought some lovely chooks last Sunday, one of them has been laying an egg nearly every day, but the other three... nada.

Apparently they'd been laying for about two months before I got them and I was told they might not deliver for a couple of days... not surprising really given the stress of being rehomed. But can anyone tell me how long their chickens took to re-establish their egg cycles?

Oh great, that sounds promising. Thanks! I knew I was probably over-fussing but I guess that's what being a new parent is all about!

BTW, I've posted some advice for you on your Aga thread. Don't know if it'll help massively!

We have 4 hens, they took about 3 weeks to get into the swing of things one started laying within a week the others took a bit longer we now get average 3 eggs a day.

MT, if you mean 'new' do you meand brand new from Aga themselves? Mine is totally renovated, cost a fraction of the price and you really couldn't tell the difference - it's even got the new retro Aga badge.

Anyway, I'm hijacking my own thread!

Thank you Charlee, it seems as if I'm prematurely worrying (and ageing too for that matter these days!)
