A quick question for any vets...

SoupDoggyDog (5.5yrs) had a GA today for teeth cleaning. He woke up at about 1pm I believe and I picked him up at 3pm. He was lively enough then, he virtually bounced out of the vet much to their amusement, but now is very very subdued when he is normally completely hyperactive and bonkers.

He's eaten some fish and has subsequently ignored the fact I am cooking a roast chicken which would ordinarily earn his full attention. He is currently snoring on the sofa in the kitchen, wrapped in a blanket, and looking very sorry for himself when disturbed.

This is perfectly normal isn't it?!

I'm not a vet but I would think that was normal as the tiredness/ordeal will have caught up with him. But do phone your vet, I'm sure they would be happy to give you advice and hopefully put your mind at rest.

Not a vet, but a vet nurse!

Totally, totally normal. I expect it'll continue for up to a couple of days.

Not only is a GA going to zonk him out, the day in the vets kennels will too - most dogs do nap during the day and it's unlikely this happened while he could smell and hear all these horrible, scary sounds and sights around him.

If he's still not picked up within a few days, give your vet a call :-)
