Do any of you own reptiles and if you do, what do you own?

I recently bought a new Horsefield tortoise and he's awesome :)

Just 6 tortoises now (a breeding pair of Hermanns and 4 youngsters) but I have kept other torts (Horsfields and Tunisians)...and also corn snakes and geckos in the past, too.

I'd really like a tortoise! We have a bearded dragon (very cool) and a leopard gecko (bit of a mardy bum)

We've just rehomed a bearded dragon. I thought she would just sit on a branch and look at us. It's not so, is it? She's worse than the dogs for attention seeking.
I am still freaking a little on the live feed days. What is the best way to get the cricketty-bugs out of their transit container into the cricketty-bug tank with the gel and food in?
At present, the whole family are gathering at the bottom of the garden with a series of large boxes, tongs and tweezers and lots of screeching and jumping.

Crickets are hideous, noisy, smelly, bitey things. After one escaped and made a huge amount of noise for WEEKS I don't have them in the house any more. Locusts are much more slow-moving, so I either catch them and throw them in by hand or use plastic tongs. We also have a cockroach colony (definitely tongs!) and feed waxworms as a treat. No need for lots of screeching and jumping!

But it's fun watching a 47 yr old company director screeching and jumping up and down!
The beardie is lovely though, she's just had a fairly dramatic shed so is looking good.
Expensive hobby though, £70 for poo tests at the vets, and lord knows how much on new bulbs etc!

Our Horsefield is off to the vets on Wednesday to have a health check before hibernation. I bet she refused to come out!

I've got a four year old Bearded Dragon. They are amazing pets!

Would love a snake but unfortunately my mother has refused to come into my house if I buy one haha!

(also have two parrots and a horse who are great too)
