Dog sprayed by badger - help - the smell is killing us!

Help! Does anyone know of any remedy for the smell? We used washing up liquid neat first and she has now had three baths outside but although it is a lot better, once inside the smell is making us all feel sick. Confined to kitchen but she will cry like a baby if I make her sleep in there and we can still smell it through the door!

Ketchup? Rub in liberally all over affected area then shampoo off.

Works on fox poo, anyway!

Try putting a couple of cups of white vinegar in maybe 6 cups of water and rinsing her over with that

I think you use tomato juice for skunk, which is surely similar.

Thank you so much - I had heard tomato juice but an internet page said it didn't work. Have run out of white vinegar but have cider and light malt so will try that first and then ketchup if needed! Thanks for such quick responses x

Hi crazynanna- I sympathise - our DD thinks perfume goes on by the bottle too!

Okay the vinegar definitely helped a little - it's at least bearable now - question is whether I can face makung a mess with ketchup at this time of night or just leave her in kitchen tonight and get out the ear plugs :)
