Poor mite had a smallish head wound which we assumed was cat fighting, took off his colar to replace toniht and there's a thin deep cut right around his neck

he's such a softy- follows us to school, and then goes down to the corner to wait for the older kids to get out of school, where they all fuss him.

When we got him, he'd been abandoned to starve in a field and rescued, now he's been let down again

We ahve a new kitten coming next week so doubly . Dh is going to see the police first tying tomorrow

blimey poor thing!!

WishICouldGiveUpWork · 21/09/2006 22:57

Oh God how awful
IS he ok now?

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 22/09/2006 10:19

He's amazing, actually, still has a nasty gash (looks like wire?) where his collar was (which is how vet knows is deliberate- collar had been shifted) and although head wound healing, still visible. He's still not jumpy with the boys or anything though, still loving. I'd ahve understood had he been.

Most likely explanation is schoolkids, he stands outside the bakery and lets them feed him sausage from their rolls and stuff- wonering if there might be a mini psycho in their ranks this year.

How awful

lanismum · 22/09/2006 11:06

thats terrible, but could he not have got caught in a wire fence, or bit of fishing wire ect?

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 22/09/2006 13:05

Only if that fence shifted his collar over to do it (and it took two of us to get it off)

most unlikely (plus I really annot think of a local wire fence, and ther's no fishiong anywhere near)

there really are some little shits around aren't there peachy?

oh but don't you know - they shouldn't be held criminally responsible until they are 14 now as apparantly they don't know right from wrong until then - my arse.

Cruelty to animals gets to me just as much as to children.

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 22/09/2006 13:46

There's a strong link between animal abuse, chil abuse and even (iirc) evidence that serial killers abused animals as children.

Actually wish i knew who this p[erson was, coz if it's a kid they need help. But I don't, and never will.
